The mission inspired lantern has a wrought iron look for classic appeal to enhance your patio or campsite. It can be set on a table or hung from the removable hanging wire.

How does the bug protection work?
The ThermaCELL Lantern runs for 12 hours on one small butane cartridge with no open flame. The heat from the butane warms a mat which is impregnated with insect repellent. The odorless, non toxic repellent rises into the air and drives away mosquitoes, black flies, no-see-ums and other flying insects. Each mat lasts 4 hours. When the color changes from blue to white, it’s time for a new mat.

It’s quick and easy to activate the lantern – just squeeze the latch tabs in the base, pull the base and frame off the globe to screw in the butane cartridge. Slide a repellent mat under the grill at the top of the lantern. Slide the on/off switch (at the top of one side) to on, wait 5 -10 seconds and then click the start button 3 – 5 times rapidly until you can see a light in the window above the buttons. The safe, self contained heating element starts up and after 2 – 3 minutes a small zone around the appliance is protected. After 10 minutes a full 15 x 15 foot “bug free zone” is established. When you are ready to go indoors, just slide the switch to off and the lantern is ready to start up again whenever you need it.

How does the light work?
Light is generated by 4 LEDs hidden in the base and powered by 4 AA batteries. To activate the light, remove the battery cover in the base by pulling the tab towards the center of the base, insert the batteries, placing them in the indicated directions and replace the cover. Press the rocker switch on one side of the base to the “LO” or “HI” setting according to how much light you desire. The batteries will provide lantern light for up to 200 hours on the “LO” setting and up to 150 hours on the “HI” setting.

Each ThermaCELL lantern comes with one butane cartridge and 3 mats for 12 hours of bug protection and 4 AA batteries for up to 200 hours of light. Refill packs are available with 4 butane cartridges and 12 insect repellent mats for 48 hours of protection.
